Shane Knisley

President, Maryview Medical Center in Portsmouth VA

Shane Knisley, is the current President of Bon Secours, Maryview Medical Center in Portsmouth VA. As president, Shane is responsible for the overall operational success of the hospital, including achieving financial, productivity, human potential and quality goals and maximizing opportunities for growth. Previously, Shane served as President, Mercy Health-Clermont Hospital a position he began in October of 2019. Prior to that role, Shane was the Chief Operating Officer of Mercy Health-Fairfield Hospital, a role he assumed in 2018.

Before joining Bon Secours Mercy Health, Knisley served as COO for Sparks Health System in Fort Smith, Arkansas and as assistant CEO for Lake Granbury Medical Center in Granbury, Texas. Prior to his time in Texas, Shane completed a 23-year career in the U.S. Navy retiring as a lieutenant commander in 2014. Immediately preceding his retirement, he served at the Navy Medicine Operational Training Center in Pensacola Florida and as a defense fellow/military legislative assistant in the United States Senate.

Knisley earned his Bachelor of Science in Information Systems Management from the University of Maryland University College in College Park and his Master of Health Administration from Army – Baylor University in Waco, Texas. Knisley is also a graduate of the Marine Corps College of Command and Staff in Quantico, VA.
